New Look

I have update Scooter Sidecars with a new colorful look. Hope you like it.

I also came across a few new links of note:

California Side Cars: http://www.californiasidecar.com
I had checked this several weeks ago and it looks like they have a nice new active website now (no Scooter sidecars though)

Sidecar Industry Council: http://www.sidecar-industry.com (shhhh they were part of the inspiration for my new look)

Other Projects

http://smelick_nsu.home.comcast.net

Sidecars are cool, and so are vintage scooters (san sidecars). I especially love the style of pre-1965 scooters; Vespa's, Lambretta's, Dürkopp's, Heinkel's, Zündapp's and so on. (my favorite being the Rumi Formichino!!) My second favorite is the NSU Prima D, and 1956 is the year. I picked one up last spring from Jay who lives in my area and is also an avid scooter-buffinatic. The scooter seems to be in great shape with only 2000 or so miles on it. It's been slow project cleaning it up. (I have chosen not to do a full restoration, just a mechanical and operational restoration) My one lesson that I have learned is the fine art of patience when it comes to obtaining parts over seas. Feel free to share your projects...

Free

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/SCT/

Today I bring to you a link to free information. This information is located on the ISOK (internet sidecar owners klub) news group located on Yahoo. Here in the "files" section of the news group you will find all sorts of great sidecar tidbits. Although mostly geared towards motorcycles, sidecar physics are universal so the riding tips etc. are of great help and informative too. I urge you to use the free membership and join this group. (required to see the files, ok, ok so nothing is really free, is it???) I recommend the "Sidecar Talk 2 Knowledge Base" folder, good GOD wait until you see the amount of information there!

How slow can you go??

Well this website has been painfully slow during the last few days. All I can say is that I am sorry, you can blame Comcast. They are not reporting any outages, just increased traffic due to the viruses. Time to go get a cup of coffee.

Importing a Cozy - One man's mission

I have received a note from a reader who is in the process of importing a Cozy sidecar (the Road Rocket) from SilverLine marketing. The prices they quote are very reasonable, and shipping cost low (to California) He will post an update about the the whole process. I am very interested in seeing how quickly an item like this will clear customs and if there are any issues along the way. This may be an good alternative way to get a sidecar into the States (or other countries)

Weblog? What's that?

Well whatever it is I added one to the site. I hear quite a bit about the "blog" phenomenon and don't really understand it. I am not one to read other's ramblings or post ramblings myself (aside from this current rambling of mine) But I figured this might be a great way for me to provide you with the information about sidecars you send to me, or information that I find myself. If you do want anything posted, feel free to shoot me a note
